Read about my Pennine Way journey for Cancer Research UK – click here. This is my first blog post since my hike, and I have used it to share all the real-time thoughts I added to a Facebook group while I was walking. It’s a chance to read about it as it happened if you didn’t follow along at the time. And you’ll get to see all my haiku too!!!

This guided walk is around 18km (11 miles) which will take 6 hours, at a pace that is comfortable for the whole group, including a lunch stop and shorter rest breaks as needed.

We will meet at Shepherds Well station ready to set off at 9.45am. We will join the North Downs Way which we will follow all the way to the end of the 153-mile route! As we near our destination there is the option to call in to see the stunning Maison Dieu.

This section of the trail offers a mixture of open countryside and residential areas on the final approach and it includes one of the art sculptures that make up the NDW Art Trail.

This is a linear route with stations at each end of the day.

This walk is dog-free.

This women-only walk is around 10km (approx 6 miles) which will take us around 3 & a half hours, at a pace that is comfortable for the whole group.

We will head away from Bearsted and up onto the North Downs Way, exploring the remains of Thurnham Castle, before reaching the viewing point at White Horse Wood Country Park where we’ll take a breather. From here we’ll head towards Detling and then return to the starting point.

You can expect some big views, a trig pillar, possibly some muddy sections, a few hills (but nothing too strenuous) and great company!

This walk is dog-free.

General booking information:

When you book a walk you will receive a confirmation of your booking by email, which includes all the details you need for your walk. If you don’t see the confirmation email please check your spam folder.

All participants will need to complete a health screening form which can be found here

All participants are responsible for bringing any medication they may need whilst on the walk.

We will walk at a comfortable pace for the group, taking breaks as and when we need them. The walk is not intended to be a race and we will take plenty of time to enjoy our surroundings as we go.

I find that guided walks are much more enjoyable for everyone if we leave our canine companions at home, so please note that all my walks are dog-free.

Parking fees and train fares are not included in the price of the walks.

I am Lowland Leader qualified with Public Liability Insurance. I am certified in Outdoor First Aid & will be carrying a first aid kit with me.

I will take some photographs during our walks which may be shared on social media channels. If you wish to be excluded from photographs, please let me know in advance.
