Everything you need to know for September.

From today onwards, the sun will not set after 8pm until 17th April 2027, so it’s time to embrace the changing seasons and perhaps make some changes in our own lives too. Maybe there are ways you can add more movement to your days? Or perhaps the movement you already do could be more meaningful?
September is a great time of year to review your current situation and start to make changes, but you don’t need to do it all at once! Small changes, introduced gradually, are more likely to result in longer-term behaviour change and the creation of new habits.
I think September is a perfect month for trying new activities & going back to activities you used to enjoy. Whether you are interested in classes, personal training or guided walks, I am here to support you so please reach out and let me know how I can help.
Classes
Our new class timetable begins in September, but we have a gentle start so I’ve added all the dates below:

Before the new terms officially start, we have one more summer session for Functional Pilates on Monday 7th September in Sissinghurst. You can book your place here
Term-dates for the new term are –
- Women-Only Workout & Functional Pilates – Mondays – 14th September-19th October (6 weeks)
- Functional Pilates – Fridays – 25th September-23rd October (5 weeks)
(click on the underlined links above to book any of these classes)
Personal training

One-to-one PT sessions are a great way to kickstart new activity, focus on training for a specific event, learn good movement patterns or to simply be held accountable! You can book just a few sessions or arrange on-going sessions, whichever suits your needs and budget.
If you are interested in discussing PT sessions, please let me know and we can arrange for an initial chat to see if we want to work together.
Guided walks
Joining a group walk is ideal if you are not sure where to go or want someone else taking care of the logistics. A good walk leader (ie. me!!) will also help you to manage your energy levels, as well as sharing local facts and folklore for the areas you visit.
I am still in the planning stages for some new walks to lead this autumn and I have three charity walking jobs in September, but I also have one walk for Adventure Women UK:

- Faversham – Creeks, Wild Marshes & Coastal Wetlands Circular Hike – 18 km – Saturday 19th September – details here. It is a moderate walk – some distance but flat terrain. We’ll head towards Oare before reaching the atmospheric tidal landscapes of the North Kent coast, walking alongside Oare Creek and out towards the beautiful Oare Marshes, where expansive skies, reedbeds, grazing marsh and tidal waterways create a wonderfully wild and remote-feeling landscape. We’ll finish back in Faversham.
A favourite view
I’ve been home a few weeks now, and I’ve definitely settled back into home life, but I’m still missing the trail and wishing I was there, so I’ll leave you with one of my favourite views along the way, heading up to the radar station on Great Dun Fell (which is a whole 6m taller than Little Dun Fell that lies beyond it!)

Here’s to a gentle September!
Jx
