What’s on in July 2026

Everything you need to know for July…

There’s no denying that my mind is sometimes already here, and in three weeks time my feet will be here too! I’m not worried about actually walking the Pennine Way (maybe I should be more worried?!) but the logistics of getting everything organised before I go is definitely affecting my sleep at the moment!

If you are in a position to donate to my JustGiving page for Cancer Research UK that would really help to calm some of my nerves, because I really would love to hit my target before I hit the trail. I know that life is expensive right now so any amount is greatly appreciated.

Sadly, we will all either experience a cancer diagnosis ourselves, or watch someone we know go through that experience, and for some of us both things will be true. Research is starting to make a real difference & whilst sadly it won’t save everyone, I’m grateful for my own treatment which has been shaped by on-going research.

I feel truly blessed that six years later I feel ready to embark on this tough physical and mental challenge. I cry when I think of reaching the finish point, already feeling sad for when it’s over; but also feeling happy that I am able to get out there & raise money for such an important cause. Your support is so appreciated – thank you x

Classes

We have a couple of weeks with the full-timetable in July, and then a pause for the summer holidays! Please see specific class details below (it’s a bit higgledy-piggledy but if you find the class you’re interested in, you’ll see which dates it is running):

Classes can be booked using the links below:

  • Strength & fitness classes can be booked here (weekly PAYG)
  • Functional Pilates classes can be booked here (weekly PAYG)

Classes can be booked right up to the last minute before the start time, but I will need a completed health questionnaire if you are attending for the first time. I do not accept walk-ins or cash payment.

If you’re not sure about which of my classes is best suited for you, please get in contact to discuss – I’m happy to advise.

Term-dates for the new term are –

  • Women-Only Workout & Functional Pilates – Mondays – 14th September-19th October
  • Functional Pilates – Fridays – 25th September-23rd October

Guided walks

We have just slid past the longest day of the year, but there is so much outdoor fun still to be had! Meadows are filled with wild flowers, the days are light & long, the ground is dry, and life takes on a gentler pace over the summer perhaps.

Joining a group walk is ideal if you are not sure where to go or want someone else taking care of the logistics. A good walk leader (ie. me!!) will also help you to manage your exertion levels and cope with the heat on very warm days, as well as sharing local facts and folklore for the areas you visit.

I am leading a few walks during July, before setting off on my big walk:

  • Shoreham & Lullingstone – Saturday 4th July – women-only. This is an Adventure Women UK walk covering 18km, taking in rolling hills, ancient woodland, sweeping countryside views and the famous lavender fields at Castle Farm – details here
  • Kent Coast – Margate to Ramsgate Coastal Walk via Botany Bay & Broadstairs – Saturday 11th July – women-only. This is an Adventure Women UK walk covering 17km & visiting sandy beaches, dramatic chalk cliffs, hidden bays and traditional seaside towns, with sea views for much of the day – details here This is one of my favourite Kent walks ever!!!
  • Canterbury to Sheperdswell – Sunday 12th July. This is a linear walk (station to station) which makes up our next section of the North Downs Way. Our day will begin with a visit to the Pilgrim Office at Canterbury Cathedral where we can receive a pilgrim stamp & certificate, sign the pilgrim book and have a group photograph in front of the cathedral! Once we are official pilgrims, we will set off through Canterbury, heading to Shepherdswell, where we’ll catch the train back again. 19km of beautiful views on this historic route – details here

Here’s to a joyful July, filled with adventures big & small…

Jx
