I have long been interested in nutrition and how it impacts on our health and one of my goals for 2012 was to integrate my passion for food into my fitness business and to share with my clients information which will help them to find their ideal body shape.
The ‘lean, green & full of beans’ project was christened during a chat with Nicci Gurr of Home Gurrown. I wanted a name which captured the various elements that I believe are important:
- lean because I believe that a healthy body will naturally be lean
- green because I want to promote local, organic and natural food
- full of beans because you will be if you follow my advice!
There will be various elements under the ‘lean, green and full of beans’ umbrella including:
- nutrition advice for weight-loss
- free workshops to promote a greater understanding of healthy nutrition
- a cleanse and detox package including daily meal plans, shopping lists and exercise guidance
- free nutrition tips and tricks emails to help you make some changes at home
- hands-on cookery workshops with Nicci
Nutrition workshop:
Sorry – you just missed my first nutrition workshop… but there’ll be another one soon!
I’ll be sharing loads of information with you about:
- the toxins your body is exposed to every day and how you can protect yourself from them
- how food production methods affect the quality of our foods
- how to eat for optimum cellular health
- the science behind your food
- how to make permanent changes to your weight and body shape
The workshop is open to anyone who is interested in making positive lifestyle changes, regardless of whether or not they are trying to lose weight. Primarily it is about being healthy, but be warned that weight loss often follows!
The nutrition workshop is free of charge but I will be collecting for donations in aid of Hospice in the Weald.

Cookery workshops with Nicci:
The cookery workshops will give you hands-on experience of cooking quick and easy meals using simple, natural ingredients. Best of all you can enjoy the fruits of your labour when we all sit down at the end of the session to eat what we have created!
Nicci trained with the Roux brothers and has agreed to share her passion for healthy food at our cookery workshops. Each session will include a cookery demonstration from Nicci, coffee & healthy cake, hands-on cooking (with guidance) so that you get the chance learn some new skills in the kitchen, recipes & nutrition information plus the chance to sit down and enjoy all the food we create!
The cookery workshops are suitable for all abilities. Places will be limited to a maximum of 8 people per session so that everyone has the chance to be fully involved.
