weekly update 4th November

Well that was a busy week but I still found time to…

  • start the 100 day burpees challenge
  • book the first tmf Christmas meal
  • run 3 pumpkin workout sessions which raised £150 for Hospice in the Weald – thanks guys for your generosity
  • go to the cinema (Midnight in Paris – loved it but felt that I needed to brush up on my literary knowledge a little)
  • watch 3 webinars (& 2 more tomorrow!)
  • book myself onto another training course
  • buy my new (pink!) work uniform
  • & cook a pumpkin curry…

Hope you had a successful week too – or a restful one if you were still on half term?

Pumpkin workouts:

I want to thank everyone who joined one of the special Hallowe’en pumpkin sessions on Monday. You were all fantastic and I hope you enjoyed your pumpkin recipes when you got home. Not only did you work hard but you also helped to raise £150 for Hospice in the Weald. Here’s what Hayley Brown, Community & Corporate Coordinator for Hospice in the Weald had to say:

“As a local charity rooted in the community we are reliant on people raising money for us in such fun and exciting new ways, which is exactly what taylor-made fitness have achieved.”

Thanks again for being such willing ‘pumpkin people’!

100 day burpess challenge:

It’s not too late to join in.

There are two options – I’ll let you guess which one I opted for!

  • either perform 100 burpees every day fro 100 consecutive days
  • OR perform 1 burpee on the 1st day, 2 on the 2nd day, 3 on the 3rd day….99 on the 99th day & 100 on the 100th day

Actually I guess there’s a 3rd option…!!

So I went for the 2nd one and started on Monday which means I’ll be doing burpees every day until 7th February 2012 – they’re already in the diary so that I can’t forget & so far it’s going well…rest assured you’ll be sharing some of them with me so why not just get involved and join in anyway??

PS There’s a facebook group dedicated to it so you can be really geeky and follow everyone’s progress if you wish – let me know if you’d like the link?

Fitness clothing:

I bought my new fitness clothes from www.nowrun.co.uk and they have put together a list of autumn offers specially for you!

The prices shown on the flyer are BEFORE the 15% discount which you will get when you enter ‘TMF2011′ at the checkout so have a look and stock up on winter layers while they are available.

The flyer features ladies clothing but there is loads more on the website including stuff for the boys.

Vitamins & minerals:

A fellow fit-pro, Simon Caddy, has recently put together a great article highlighting why your body needs vitamins and minerals and I have shared the link to it below. Have a read and find out just how important all these micro-nutrients are to your system.

If you are interested in micro-nutrients, you can now take a quick online lifestyle analysis on my Natures Sunshine web page which will help to identify any deficiencies in your body.

The process is very simple to follow:

  • take the test and then follow the recommendations, opting for the key system that gives you your lowest score
  • add in base level supplements (omega 3, super-supplemental & Zambrosa)
  • after 90 days, repeat the health analysis and start the process again, opting for whatever is your new weakest system

Let me know if you need any further information on Natures Sunshine products.
