weekly update 28th October

Hi

It’s been a funny week – I’ve been too hot, too cold and far too wet for my liking – but along the way I’ve also had some really good moments & eaten cake!

I finished my 28-day cleanse & detox program and was really pleased to have lost a total of 12cm around my body – mostly from my waist and belly button level which was an added bonus. You can see the results (word of warning: I’m in a bikini so perhaps best not to click on this link if you’ve recently eaten!!) and read my blog here.

I’ll be rolling out the cleanse program for you in January so keep an eye out for further details if you think you might be interested…

As you’ll see from my blog I set myself some fitness targets for the 28 days and I’m pleased to have impr0ved on my initial scores.

  • my bleep test score didn’t increase to the next level but I moved up about 8 points from start to finish so I’ll take that for now and keep working away at it…
  • my run time improved dramatically so I’m very pleased with that. I haven’t run for over a year as I was experiencing back, neck & shoulder pain after each run – I’m really pleased that so far I haven’t had any such problems. I’m currently training someone who needs to complete 1.5miles (2.4km) in 14 minutes for her army selection test, so it seemed only fair that I should do it too – still need to shave 1 minute off my time but I’m on track and determined to do it – watch this space!
  • my other fitness goal was simply to do more! I now schedule in my training sessions in my diary (in red pen) and make sure I stick to the plan – so far, so good – and I’m feeling great for it.

Also this week I ordered and took delivery of mats and various other bits of fitness equipment.

If you asked me to order a folding mat you should have received an email from me – if you didn’t get an email it means that I forgot you (?!) so please drop me an email and I will order it in a few weeks. I will bring them with me next week but please note I will need payment on collection of all items as I have already paid for them.

Sadly the supplier did not have enough of the standard mats so there may be a slight delay getting these to you…I think I have enough to give them to the 9am bootcampers. The 6.15am bootcampers can keep using mine until I receive the rest that I ordered. I will get my head around the numbers this weekend and let you know….

I also took delivery of my new TRX Rip trainer this week and was very excited to give it a little try on Thursday morning…PT clients beware!!!

Christmas meal:

I will be getting more organised with this during the week and should have more details for you next time so please bear with me.

Super-circuits:

For those of you who find it hard to get to the morning sessions, don’t forget that I also run a circuit class every Monday evening in the sports hall at DCPS (7-8pm). You can come along to make up any missed bootcamp sessions or just come along regularly and enjoy an energising workout at the end of your day. It’s a really friendly class with a good mix of male & female participants and a wide range of fitness abilities. A friend of mine who is completely blind joined us this week – if he can do it, you can!! Please let me know if you’d like more information.

Charity pumpkin workouts:

To celebrate Halloween on Monday, I will be running 3 special sessions where you will be wroking out with a pumpkin! The session will run at 6.15am, 9am and 7pm in the usual venues and I will be collecting money for the Hospice in the Weald so please bring some spare change with you if you’d like to contribute.

I will provide pumpkins for tmf clients – hopefully I’ll have enough – and you will be able to keep yours the class. I’ll be sending out some fantastic fat-burning pumpkin recipes to everyone who attends one of these sessions so that you’ll be able to put it to good use.

You’re very welcome to bring a friend with you if you wish. They can either contact me in advance for an online version of my health questionnaire or they can arrive a few minutes early to complete a hard copy on the day. Please ask them to bring along their own pumpkin (and a donation for the charity collection).

The week ahead:

We’re starting again with week 1 for both bootcamps this week. It’s an ideal week to start again if you haven’t been for a while as the sessions will be nmore manageable and less intense. Obviously if you want to push yourself there will be plenty of opportunity to do so…

We normally do our fitness test on the first day of week 1 but this will be pushed back to the Wednesday/Friday sessions due to the pumpkin session – I’m sure you won’t mind an extra 2 days before the test??

6.15m at DCPS:

  • Monday – Pumpkin workout
  • Wednesday – ME 21
  • Friday – Fitness test & boxfit 40/20

9am at Benenden:

  • Monday – Pumpkin workout
  • Tuesday – ME 13
  • Wednesday – Fitness test & mixed high/low accumulator
  • Thursday – ME 14
  • Friday – Partner drills

I’m just off to eat a yummy mixed game casserole that has been in the oven for the last couple of hours…but before I do here’s a quick reminder that the clocks go back at 2am on Sunday morning – at least we’ll be able to see again at 6.15am, at least for a few weeks!

Have an awesome weekend & don’t forget to bring money and loads of energy to your Pumpkin Workout on Monday…
