weekly update 15th October
It’s a late one tonight but once it’s done I can have a whole day without work tomorrow…
Just have to start by saying that the feedback following my Fitness Pilates session on Wednesday was really great – I was surprisingly nervous teaching this to my 9am bootcampers as it is new to me and very different to our normal session. Fitness Pilates requires a mind-body connection so it was really difficult to gauge what people thought during the class as they were concentrating so hard, but it seemed to go down well…so my question is this:
- would you like to have a Fitness Pilates session as a regular addition to the 9am bootcamp sessions or just as an occasional treat?
Please let me know your thoughts.
Mats:
I have started to get organised with regards ordering enough mats for everyone to have their own. Some people have suggested that they would prefer a folding mat so here is my proposal.
I will either buy a standard mat for you or contribute the cost of the standard mat towards a folding one if you prefer that option. The standard mats will be identical to those we use at the moment and they are 10mm thick. The folding mats are longer (1500mm instead of 1000m) and come in either 9mm or 14mm thickness. Costs are as follows:
- standard mat £2 (inc VAT) – free to all tmf bootcamp clients
- 9mm folding mat £11.50 (inc VAT) – you will pay £9.50
- 14mm folding mat £14 (inc VAT) – you will pay £12
Please could you email me (jane@taylormadefitness.biz) by next Friday (21st October) if you would like to pay extra for a folding mat, and if so which thickness you would prefer. If I don’t hear from you I will go ahead and order a standard mat for you.
I have had two requests for skipping ropes – please let me know if you would like one so that I can add it to the order (details on last week’s weekly update)
Christmas meal?
I wonder whether any of you would like to have a tmf Christmas lunch/dinner this year? I thought maybe it would be good to see each other in real clothes for a change!
If there is enough interest in doing something I will be asking for a volunteer to organise it…simply because if it’s left to me it won’t be happening any time soon!!
Please let me know your thoughts…
Food stuff!
I recently found a blog by Chris Kresser and have been following it for a few weeks. I love it because there’s loads of info about nutrition (just can’t get enough!!) so I thought I’d share a link with you from his series of articles ’9 steps to perfect health’:
I’ll share another of his blog posts next week
Blokes bootcamp??
I am toying with the idea of setting up a men-only Saturday morning bootcamp. I don’t currently have space in my diary, or a venue arranged, but I would try to create both if there was enough interest in a weekend session for the blokes. I am thinking fairly early – maybe 8.30 or 9am start & potentially at Benenden. Strictly no girls (except me of course) so that the guys can get on with it without being shown up by you!
Perhaps you could let me know if there would be any interest from your household (& ladies I should just point out that you can’t decide for him whether he might be interest or not!!)
Bootcamp next week:
’5-up’ workouts – you’ll see that both the 6.15am & the 9am sessions have a ’5-up’ workout next week and as we haven’t done this one before I thought I’d let you know what it is…basically you will have a pair of exercises to perform continuously over a 5 minute period. You will start with 1 repetition of each move, then 2 of each, then 3, then 4, then 5; then you will start again with 1 or each and so it goes on for 5 minutes. Bet you can’t wait huh?!
6.15am @ DCPS: week 3 of 4
- Monday – 5-up workout
- Wednesday – ME 19
- Friday – Whole body accumulator (mwahahahaha!)
9am @ Benenden: week 3 of 3
Please note you get a week off from 24th-28th October, after which we go straight through to mid-December.
- Monday – Metabolic circuit 3
- Tuesday – ME 11
- Wednesday – 5-up workout
- Thursday – ME 12
- Friday – Power 50/10
It’s late now and I’ve missed my self-imposed 11pm curfew so time to stop writing and go to bed.
Have a great week
Jane x
PS don’t forget to check out my cleanse & detox blog here - I’m feeling much better this week, full of energy again, and hopefully not looking so bad as last week !!
I would like a folding mat please,9mm. I think a christmas meal would be a great idea, a good chance to get to know each other, and realise we do scrub up quite well !!
Hi Jane,
I would be very interested in a boys bootcamp on a Sat am.
However, due to my sons sports commitments I would need to finish bootcamp by 8.45am.
