weekly update 23rd September

Hi – just a quick one this week as I need to get myself packed & organised for a Fitness Pilates training course I’m doing this weekend…watch out for some sneaky Pilates influences creeping in over the next few weeks!!

I’m sending this one out to all tmf clients this week just to let you all know what I’m going to be doing for the next 3 weeks or so…

Nature’s Sunshine:

As part of an exciting nutrition progam/course that I have signed up to, I am now an Independent Distributor for Nature’s Sunshine and you can find out more by clicking here: http://www.taylormadefitness.biz/natures-sunshine/. I am passionate about quality nutrition and don’t believe it is possible to gain all the nutrients we need for optimum health without supplemental support and I am really excited to be working with Nature’s Sunshine.

The first part of my course involves trying out the products that I will be recommending to you – so next week I begin a 21-day detox and cleanse process and I will be blogging about my experience as I go! I plan to share with you all the details including my ‘before and after’ photos & measurements, my fitness routine, how I feel as I go through the process and obviously the end results. I figured that it would help me to stay on track if I knew you were checking up on me so make sure and check out my blog from Tuesday next week…

Blood acidity:

Due to a variety of diet and lifestyle factors the majority of people have acidic blood. So why does this matter? Acidic blood has a sticky consistency which renders it ineffective at transporting nutrients around the body and ineffective at removing toxins from the body. In addition sticky, acidic blood is also ideal for growth of infection and disease.

If you are struggling to lose body fat, it is very likely that your blood is too acidic. Here’s a simple routine you can follow to improve blood alkalinity:

  • take a glass of cold water and add half to one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
  • stir to mix (NB it won’t dissolve)
  • add the juice of half a lemon (although it is acidic it is alkaline-forming in the body)
  • drink this mixture every morning accompanied by 3 fish (or flaxseed) oil capsules and 1 multivitamin
  • wait 30 minutes before eating your protein-rich breakfast

Other things you can do to increase blood alkalinity include:

  • eating more green vegetables
  • drinking green tea instead of coffee or black tea
  • avoiding processed and sugary foods

So while you’re out & about this weekend, buy yourself some bicarb & lemons so that you can start to improve the quality of your blood and improve the health of your body – it’s the cheapest health kick out there & it really works…!

Bootcamp:

For those of you who come to bootcamp, here’s the list of sessions for next week.

Don’t forget that the 9am sessions have a week off next week but you can of course come to any of the early sessions or the Monday evening Super-Circuits (7pm @ DCPS) if you can fit them into your schedule. If not, enjoy your week off, but make sure you come back w/c 3rd October.

6.15am @ DCPS:

Please note all the early sessions will now take place on the Little Stream playground (just around the corner from the field we have been on) due to a) increasing darkness & b) me getting told off again for being too loud!! Oooops!

Next week is the last week of the month so please be prepared to work super hard…

  • Monday – Metabolic Circuit 4
  • Wednesday – ME 16
  • Friday – Power 50/10

9am @ Benenden:

  • Free bleep test session @ 9am on Tuesday 27th Sept – come and join in to get a measure of your current fitness levels in this non-competitive shuttle test

Finally:

An update from last week:

  • Maria completed the Great North Run in a fantastic time of 1 hour 56 mins. Not content with that she’s at it again this weekend with a 25 mile run?! Go Maria!!
  • Henri completed her London to Brighton night-time cycle ride & kept going with only one pedal for the last 5 miles…and she’s doing it again this weekend, but this time it’s London to Guildford – a mere 52 miles via 1 or 2 hills…

Good luck to both of them – and to you if you are doing something challenging this weekend.

So I’m going offline now – eating, packing & sleeping are all urgently required. Please let me know if you would like any extra information about anything in this weekly update, or email me your feedback if you have any.

I’ll leave you with this great picture which put a smile on my face this morning:
