weekly update 15th August

Hello again!

I’m up early today (no change there then!!) so I thought I’d get this out to you before you get stuck into your weekend.

Just a quick update this week but next week I’ll be including several home-based workouts that you can do while I’m on holiday, although of course a rest would also be good for you…

I think sometimes we get scared that if we rest for a week or two that we’ll suddenly put on weight and lose muscle tone, but if you stay generally active and continue to eat well (protein at every meal, lots of fresh green stuff, plenty of water, limited starchy carbs, sugars & alcohol) your body will actually benefit from taking a break from more intense training.

I plan on getting out on my bike and I’ll be doing some walking while I’m off, but I’ll also be demolishing a brick wall, smashing up a concrete path & maybe painting the kitchen so I think that will keep me active enough…!! Anyway, that’s all for next week; now for the remaining days until I’m off:

6.15am @ DCPS:

It’s week 4 so they’re going to be a little bit nastier, but I promise I won’t get the days mixed up this week (I’ve labelled them to make sure!!)

There’ll be a lovely fitness test on Monday 22nd – not so that you can compete with anyone else, but just so that you know where you are. We’ll repeat it at the start and end of each month from September onwards…

  • Monday 15th – High intensity accumulator 4
  • Wednesday 17th – ME 12
  • Friday 19th – Weighted metabolic circuit 4
  • Monday 22nd – fitness test plus CV 40/20

9am @ Benenden:

  • Monday 15th – ME 22
  • Wednesday 17th – ME 23
