ME Spark workout

I did a great workout yesterday morning – my glutes and upper body feel like they did a bit of work so I know it hit me just where I wanted it to!!

So what did I do?

I followed the ME Spark workout from ‘The Metabolic Effect Diet’ book. Basically you take 4 hybrid (whole body) moves, perform each one for 12 repetitions, resting as required, and keep that going as a circuit for 20 minutes. It’s really simple but super effective for switching on your fat-burning hormones.

Click on the link below for further details about what the workout entails and then read below to see which exercises I chose:

Here’s what I did:

  1. Alternate lunge with forward bend & row
  2. Chest press/fly with feet lifted off the floor
  3. Push up & row
  4. Static squat with curl & extension

I used 4kg dumbbells for all these exercises.

After my 20 minutes I went into the garden and finished with 3 quick interval drills:

  • 100 toe taps on a 9″ step
  • 100 jumping jacks with overhead arms
  • 100 spotty dogs

So just 25 minutes in total but I felt great all day!!

Why don’t you try it at home?
