Changes to bootcamp June 2011
Hi
I just wanted to update you on a few changes to bootcamp sessions from June onwards.
Hopefully these will not cause any inconvenience but please let me know if you would like to discuss any of the proposed changes.
Session times:
Bootcamp sessions currently run for 55 minutes but I feel that often this is too long. We are all short on time and the style of exercise I teach is fairly demanding so I have decided to shorten the sessions to 45 minutes.
Don’t worry – you will still get amazing results as you will be able to push yourself a little harder. I will make sure I continue to deliver great content so that you still get an awesome, metabolic workout every session.
The other benefit of shortening the sessions is that I will not need to increase fees for the time-being.
- early morning bootcamps will run from 6.15am-7am from 1st June onwards (NB there’s no session on Monday 30th May)
- mid-morning bootcamps will run from 9.05-9.50am from 6th June onwards – this will allow those who do pre-school drop offs at 9am to join us for the warm-up
Metabolic Effect:
As I am now qualified and licenced to teach Metabolic Effect I will be using this class format for every Tuesday and Thursday bootcamp session at 9am from 6th June onwards.
This will not affect anyone who already comes to bootcamp – you will still be free to come along on any day that suits you and you will be able to join the ME sessions at no extra cost.
It does however enable me to market ME separately to the bootcamp sessions and some people may prefer only to do the ME sessions, for which they will pay a different rate. Full details will be on the website shortly but please rest assured this will not adversely affect any of my current bootcampers.
Unlike the bootcamp sessions, the ME sessions will run through the school holidays. This will give bootcampers the opportunity to attend in the holidays if they wish and I will set up payment links for this in due course.
Dumb bells:
In an effort to keep my car going as long as possible without needing yet another head gasket, I will need everyone to buy themselves a pair of dumbbells so that I don’t have to carry around the weight of 2 grown men (in body bars) everywhere I go!
If you don’t already have a set of dumbbells I have sourced some for you which you can order direct from Amazon via the link below. If you prefer to buy some elsewhere please make sure:
- there is space for your knuckles to fit around the handle and still be clear of the floor if you were doing a push up on them (some of the lighter dumb bells will not have enough of a gap)
- they have flat edges so that they won’t roll away.
You need a weight that you can only just manage to perform 10 side raises with – any lighter and you won’t feel the benefit, any heavier and you may struggle to perform the exercises safely. Most of you will need 3kg dumbbells, more for the men (say 5-8kg) and less/none for anyone with long-term shoulder/neck issues (eg 2kg).
The idea is that you will keep them in your car so that you have them on the days that we need weights.
I have sourced various dumbbells via Amazon and have set up links for you to buy them direct – I have chosen products which will be suitable for the classes and which also have free shipping! Please click here for further details.
Finally…
I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for your continuing support and energy. I sometimes hear people moaning about their work but I can safely say, thanks largely to you, that I love every minute of my job. You make bootcamp a great place to be & I love training you.
Please let me know if you have any concerns at all about any of these changes – I am more than happy to discuss them with you individually.
Kind regards
Jane x
